Another one of our super-supertars at CPFC; Head of Youth Football and Coach of Girls U15s Adrian Goodwin presenting one of his players with a Player of the Match Award with thanks to McDonalds Ipswich.
Joint manager Archie Arnold advised the club that he would be standing down after last Saturday's match against Wenhaston United.
The committee of Capel Plough FC would like to place on record its gratitude to Archie for his immense efforts as both player and manager in the period since he made his debut for the team 25 years ago.
Archie was part of the first team squad that reached the Suffolk Senior Cup Final in 05/06 and was joint manager when they made it back to Portman Road in 09/10. Since taking on the role of manager he has helped to maintain the first team's senior status, which now stretches back 19 years. More recently Archie was instrumental in establishing the veteran's team for which he has managed and played.
Managing a village football team consumes many hours and Archie understandably would like to spend more time with his young family. We hope Archie enjoys his break from football and very much hope to see him up the playing field from time to time.
A huge and sincere thank you to our local McDonald's restaurant franchise, Mardi Foods Ltd for supporting girls' football at our club. Their chain of restaurants are based around Ipswich with also restaurants in Sudbury & Clacton/Weeley.
