From June to September 2019, Elmers Trail is set to feature around Ipswich, nine miles from Capel St Mary. The Parade will feature 50 individually designed elephants based on the much-loved children’s character, Elmer the patchwork elephant, and have a Young Elmer Herd keeping them company.

Both Elmer and St Elizabeth's Hospice are celebrating their 30th birthdays this year, and as Capel Plough Football Club are also celebrating a "big" birthday, the club thought that this is a wonderful way to commemorate our 50th year and to feature in the Young Elmer Herd.

Capel Plough Football Club has pledged to raise £750 for St Elizabeths Hospice, in return for a blank ‘young Elmer’ sculpture to design, decorate, join in the trail, and then keep to display at the Club. The values that Elmer promotes are deeply rooted into our Clubs philosophy with positive messages on inclusivity, courage and friendship. We hope that our contribution will be remembered by our future young members for the next 50 years of the club.

Capel Plough FC would like to say a huge thank you to Ipswich 102 radio presenter, Natasha Sims for helping the club with press & media for the monumental and televised opening of our SSE FA Girls' Wildcats Centre, earlier this year. Natasha was presented by her daughter Jessica, with a bottle of champagne from the club's committee as a gesture of thanks.

Natasha is a committed advocate for the promotion of sport for girls here in the East. You can listen to her show every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. https://www.ipswich102radio.com/on-air/natasha-sims/

Well done today to The Capel Plough Mens 1st team. A fantastic away win against Benhall st Mary today. After a hard fought 1st half against the wind & up the slope, we came in 0-0 at HT, thanks to a Superb Penalty save from GK Rigga.

Early in the 2nd half, a Hoddle like finish from Danny Garrard put us 1 up. Benhall pulled back an equaliser with 10 minutes left on the clock. Just before the Referee lifted the whistle to his mouth to blow the FT whistle, Dan Page hit a 20 yard drive under the keeper, not only to secure the 3 points but also our position at top of the table. UTP.

Massive derby game next week at Gandish Road against our local rivals East Bergholt Utd. All support will be hugely appreciated. #UTP
